The quarterly Critical Muslim presents Muslim perspectives on the great debates of our times. We aim to emphasise the plurality and diversity of Islam and Muslims and to promote dialogue, cooperation and collaboration between ‘Islam’ and other cultures, including ‘the West’. We look at everything critically and challenge traditionalist, modernist, fundamentalist and apologetic versions of Islam as well as the established conventions and orthodoxies of dominant cultures. We seek new readings of religion, culture and politics with the potential to transform the Muslim world and beyond.
